Public Drafts of Meeting Items – The FCC is publicly releasing the draft text of each item expected to be considered at this Open Commission Meeting with the exception of items involving specific, enforcement-related matters including restricted proceedings and hearing designation orders.   • Improving 911 Reliability
    The Commission considered a Report and Order to promote public safety by ensuring that 911 call centers receive timely and useful notifications of disruptions to 911 service. (PS Docket Nos. 13-75, 15-80; ET Docket No. 04-35)
  • Updating Resources Used to Determine Local TV Markets
    The Commission considered a Report and Order that would update its rules to use the most up-to-date market information for determining a television station’s local market for carriage purposes. (MB Docket No. 22-239)
  • Pole Attachment Proceeding
    The Commission considered an Order on Reconsideration and Review which denied a petition for reconsideration filed by Duke Energy Progress and an application for review filed by AT&T in a dispute over rates for attaching to utility poles. (Proceeding No. 20-293)

Hearing on Impact to Communications of Hurricanes Fiona and Ian - Following consideration by the Commission of the proposals on the meeting agenda, the FCC held a hybrid, virtual and in-person, field hearing to hear from a diverse range of stakeholders about the impact of Hurricanes Fiona and Ian on communications and the recovery effort. This hearing was live streamed on the same video feed as the November Open Meeting.
