The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced it will hold two webinars to answer questions about low power FM (LPFM) and the process for applying for a new LPFM license during the October 15 - October 29, 2013 open filing window. The LPFM service was established in 2000 to create opportunities for new voices to be heard on the radio.
The first webinar was held August 20th. Areas that were covered included: an overview of the low power radio service; how to use the Commission’s LPFM Channel Finder; instructions on creating a CDBS account; and how to fill out the application (Form 318), among others. Details on the second webinar, to be held in early October, will be provided in a subsequent announcement.
