This is the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) report on telephone subscribership in the United States, presenting subscribership statistics based on the Current Population Survey (CPS) conducted by the Census Bureau in November 2005.  Based on the data gathered in that survey, we estimate that 92.9% of all households in the United States had telephone service.  The report also shows subscribership levels by state, income level, race, age, household size, and employment status.
