On January 24, 2023, the FCC’s Media Bureau released a Public Notice seeking comment on a consumer coalition proposal about the accessibility of closed captioning display settings.  More specifically, in determining if closed captioning display settings are readily accessible, the proposal recommends that FCC consider four factors:  proximity, discoverability, previewability, and consistency and persistence.  These four factors were proposed and defined by a coalition of consumer groups in its filing at: https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/document/10218268018374/1

A separate AccessInfo will be released when the comment due dates are established by publication in the Federal Register.  Interested parties may file comments by accessing the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings.  All filings must reference MB Docket No. 12-108.  People with disabilities who need assistance to file comments online may request assistance by email to FCC504@fcc.gov
