On January 10, 2017, the FCC released a Public Notice seeking comment on a petition filed by the Alliance for Community Media (ACM).  ACM asks the Commission to waive closed captioning registration and certification requirements for entities that provide video programming exclusively to public, educational, and governmental access channels (PEG channels) that are not required to provide closed captioning under the FCC’s rules.

Comments may be filed using the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings.   The proceeding number is 05-231.
