The Federal Communications Commission has tentatively placed on its agenda for the March 23, 2017 open meeting an item that would enhance service quality and propose a new provider compensation plan for video relay service (VRS) to better ensure that individuals who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or have speech disabilities experience service that is functionally equivalent to voice services available to hearing individuals who do not have speech disabilities.
