On January 18, 2017, the Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) and the Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) granted a petition filed by VTC Secure, LLC (VTC Secure) seeking a waiver of the Commission's rules to allow VTC Secure, a provider of direct video calling customer support services, to access the telecommunications relay service (TRS) Numbering Directory.  In addition, the Bureaus granted VTC Secure's request for a Declaratory Ruling that video relay service (VRS) providers must route and connect all direct voice, video and text calls between telephone numbers in the TRS Numbering Directory.  This would include point-to-point calls between VRS users and direct video calling customer support service call centers.
