Oakland Forum on Broadband Adoption

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, California Mayors from Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose, the California Technology Agency and the California Emerging Technology Fund will hold a joint forum at the Stride Center in Oakland, CA, on Thursday April 14 to discuss the opportunities and challenges of increasing the relevance of broadband, including through the development and utilization of civic mobile applications (apps) and lessons learned from ongoing projects in California. As part of this event, Chairman Genachowski will announce a contest co-sponsored with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation on new and innovative mobile applications design and development.
