A. Determine if device requires authorization under Verification; Declaration of Conformity (DoC); or Certification. Unlicensed transmitters (low power intentional radiators) – see Section 15.201 Other unlicensed devices (unintentional radiators) – see Section 15.101 Licensed transmitters (high power intentional radiators) may fall under one (or more) of the following rule part(s): 22; 24; 25; 74; 80; 87; 90; 95; 101 Depending upon the type of device, the following authorization is required: Authorization is not required for devices subject to Verification or DoC B. Test measurements of equipment regulated under Parts 15 and 18 are required for authorization to import/market in the U.S. Visit the EAS page for a list of Contract Test Firms. C. Obtain an FCC Registration Number (FRN) for a device requiring Certification (either through the FCC or a TCB). An FRN is not required for devices subject to Verification or DoC D. For a device requiring Certification (either through the FCC or a TCB) and if an Applicant/Grantee Code has not been previously assigned, obtain a Code from ‘Grantee Registration’. An Applicant/Grantee Code is not required for devices subject to Verification or DoC. E. For a device requiring Certification through the FCC submit an Application for Equipment Authorization, FCC Form 731. A list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) is also at this URL address. F. For a device requiring certification through a TCB. G. A credit card payment can be submitted online, provided the system being used has at least 128-bit encryption NOTE: A practice filing may be performed. |
