Michael Anderson - Chief Information Officer, PDQLink
|
Captain Michael R. Anderson (USAF Retired) is Chief Information Officer of Prime Directive Quick Link Corp. (PDQLink) of North Aurora, IL, which is the wireless division of Prime Directive Corporation. He also is the founder and Chairman of Part-15.Org, which provides education and training assistance to wireless ISPs and hosts for the semi-annual WISPCON conference. His work is increasingly focused on PDQLink and Part-15's progress as a wireless provider as well as fostering parallel developments in the industry nationwide.
Joel Brick is Telecommunications Director for Sioux Valley Wireless, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sioux Valley Energy in Colman, SD. He has 30 years of experience in radio communications system design and installation (low frequency through microwave), including experience in the legal and licensing, technical engineering, and operation and maintenance. His present responsibilities include directing Sioux Valley Wireless' MMDS wireless television and wireless Internet activities. Mr. Brick holds FCC General Radiotelephone, NABER, PCIA, CET Certifications, and a degree in Electronic Technology. He has served as Region 5 Chair for the Utilities Telecommunications Council. His personal interests include playing the violin, boating, trapshooting, fishing, hunting, and inventing.
Michael Butler is President Digital Health Exchange, Inc, the parent company of Ice Communications. He has 10 years experience in the telecommunications industry and has worked in such diverse areas as IXCs, cable, local services, marine electronic, satellite services, and Internet access. Mr. Butler was previously employed with AT&T prior to starting DHE. He now works extensively with the Telemedicine community and with rural ISPs to increase capacity and lower cost of telecom services for rural communities. Mr. Butler resides in Cordova, Alaska, a rural fishing community at the entrance to Prince William Sound.

Douglas Campbell - Chief Operating Officer, AMA TechTel
|
Douglas Campbell is Chief Operating Officer of AMA TechTel, one of the largest WISPs using unlicensed devices to bring wireless broadband to rural communities. During his tenure with a technology firm, Douglas Campbell established major relationships with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the State Department, which enhanced international trade relations and secured new international accounts in Mexico, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria. Mr. Campbell has a background is in sales, marketing, and management. He also serves on numerous not-for-profit boards at the state and local level as well as numerous committees to further technology and its use in telecommunications in rural Texas.
Michael Shane Hampton joined Monet Mobile Networks as Vice President, Field Sales after holding several senior level positions at XO Communications. Previously, Mr. Hampton was Vice President of Sales & Marketing for XO Canada, where he had sole responsibility for all sales and marketing activities in six new markets. Prior to that position, he was Vice President, Strategic Accounts for XO's Midwest Region. At XO, Mr. Hampton also served as General Manager, Vice President of the greater Chicago area. Mr. Hampton was also General Manager for American Communications Services, Inc., in Dallas, Texas where he had sole responsibilities for services in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Jay Maxwell - Chief Executive Officer, Pixius

Jay S. Maxwell is a founding investor and serves as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Member of the Board of Pixius. He oversees the company's acquisitions, software development, and broadband wireless deployments. His duties involve overseeing nearly all facets of the company including its organizational structure, legal reviews, equity and debt placement, partnership negotiations, acquisitions and strategic planning. Mr. Maxwell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University.
Neil Mulholland is co-founder of Prairie iNet, an organization that delivers broadband Internet service on a community-wide basis utilizing 802.11b and other unlicensed equipment. Prairie iNet provides broadband Internet service to over 120 communities in Iowa and Illinois, and is one of the largest WISPs in the United States. Prior to joining Prairie iNet, Mr. Mulholland served as a Senior Vice President at Los Angeles based Cushman Realty Corporation, where he personally completed over $2 billion in corporate real estate transactions. Mr. Mulholland has a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Construction Engineering from Iowa State University.

Craig Mollerstuen - Director of Administration, GCI

Craig Mollerstuen is Director of Administration for the Broadband Services Department of Anchorage-based GCI, where he is responsible for all operations, accounting and administrative functions. He was previously the Director of Business Development, responsible for planning and implementing strategies for GCI's in-state and out-of-state business, strategic partnerships, and new products and services deployment. Mr. Mollerstuen has 18 years of experience in telecommunications. Prior to joining GCI in 2000, he worked as a Technical Support Manager, Central and Eastern Europe for Netscape Communications, GmbH in Munich, Germany. He also spent four years in Barrow, Alaska, working for the North Slope Borough's Network Support Services group and the North Slope Borough School District. Mr. Mollerstuen was graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and has a certificate in telecommunications engineering from UC Berkeley. He is currently pursing an MBA in Telecommunications Management at Alaska Pacific University.
Jim Pace is a partner in a WISP operation located in west central Idaho, serving the communities of New Meadows, McCall, Cascade and Donnelly. His company, Strategic Information Services LLC, owns and operates the wireless Internet distribution network that reaches customers of CTC telecom, its joint venture partner and the original local ISP in this region. Mr. Pace's professional experience includes work as an intelligence analyst for the US Army, a high school teacher, and 10 years as a professional reference librarian. In addition, he is a long-time ski, climbing, and kayaking bum. His education includes a master's degree in library science from the University of Washington, a B.S. in business administration from the University of Idaho, and teaching certificates from Gonzaga University.
Mike Peralta is currently a Tribal Digital Village (TDV) network engineer, working as part of the Southern California Tribal Chairman's Association. Mr. Peralta is a key member of the TDV technical infrastructure team and the primary interface with University of California San Diego researchers. He is involved with all facets of wireless network design, implementation and maintenance. His passion is to develop the interest in technology among local tribal youth. Mr. Peralta is also a Rincon tribal member and a lead coordinator at the Rincon Indian Education center.

Roberta Purcell - Assistant Administrator, Telecommunications Program, RUS

On October 25, 1998, Roberta D. Purcell was appointed Assistant Administrator, Telecommunications Program, of the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), U. S. Department of Agriculture. As Assistant Administrator, she is responsible for the Telecommunications Program, which includes the Rural Telephone Bank, the Distance Learning Telemedicine Loan, and Grant Program. She is also responsible for managing the telecommunications infrastructure loan program. The Telecommunications Program currently has 864 active borrowers located throughout 47 States, and internationally. Previously, Ms. Purcell served as the Assistant Administrator, Program Accounting and Regulatory Analysis, where she was responsible for the Agency's budget administration, personnel management, administrative services, information resources management, and financial operations. She served as the Agency's liaison with the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the General Accounting Office, and the Office of Inspector General. Prior to being appointed as Director of the Program Accounting Services Division in May 1996, Ms. Purcell was Chief of the Technical Accounting and Auditing Staff. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and a major in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia.

Larry Scott Roadman - Manager, Wireless Access LLC

Larry Roadman is the manager of Wireless Access LLC, the owner of three LPTV stations designated as test stations to explore the use of the spectrum for two-way data services. He also serves as President of the Margaretville Telephone Co., Inc. in Margaretville, NY and on the Board of Directors of the Enterprise Development International in Fairfax, VA., where he has been Chairman since 2002. He has worked for JP Morgan in New York and Tokyo, Japan. Mr. Roadman served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1973. He holds a BA in Political Science and a MBA/JD from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Marlon Schafer was born and raised in the farming community of Odessa, WA. After high school he entered the United States Air Force and became a linesman. In 1989, he and his wife moved to Spokane, where he worked as a delivery driver, then a receiving clerk, then a warehouse manager over the next several years, while taking electronics classes. In 1991, Mr. Schafer went to work for a copier repair company where he serviced copiers, printers, faxes etc. In 1995, he and his family moved back to Odessa and launched Odessa Office Equipment.

Roxanne White - General Manager, Evertek

Roxanne White brings over 18 years of experience in regulatory and business matters to United Farmers Telephone and Evertek, Inc., where she currently serves as the General Manager. She specializes in cost analysis and has worked on telecommunications and wireless policy for rural areas. Under her leadership, the company has played a significant role in expanding broadband services to the rural communities through the use of technology and partnerships. The Evertek team serves on several legislative telephony and broadband committees, joining with others to represent the interests of rural telephone and broadband companies.

David F. Witschi - Acting Director, Economic Development Administration
|
David F. Witschi is the Acting Director of the Office of Program Operations, Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for policy development and oversight of the Agency's several economic development grant programs and is actively engaged in program management and policy issues including defense adjustment, disaster recovery and securitization of economic development loans. Previously, Mr. Witschi served for over twelve years as Director of EDA's Economic Adjustment Division which managed all of the Agency's Revolving Loan Funds. Before transferring to Washington in 1986, Mr. Witschi worked ten years in EDA's Seattle Regional Office, eventually in the position of Chief of Public Works for the region. Mr. Witschi holds a Bachelors degree in Forestry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, as well as a Civil Engineering degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. Mr. Witschi is a registered professional civil engineer in the State of Washington and a former officer of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
