On March 13, 2018,  the Media Bureau of the FCC released a Public Notice inviting public comment on the American Cable Association’s (ACA’s) petition for an extension of its waiver of the Commission’s emergency information rules.  Specifically, ACA requests a permanent extension, or in the alternative, a five year extension of its waiver of the requirement for video programming distributors to pass through audible emergency information on a secondary audio stream for analog-only cable systems.
