On June 10, 2013, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Report and Order and

Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (FNPRM) adopting several measures to improve the structure, efficiency and quality of the video relay service program.  By this Order, the Commission directed its Managing Director to select a neutral party to develop and implement a Video Access Technology Reference Platform (VATRP) under contract to the Commission to promote standards for interoperability of equipment for VRS and point-to-point video connection.

 

The FCC’s Managing Director released a Request for Proposal (RFP) for services to support the development and implementation of a VATRP and to provide operations and maintenance service for the platform for a period of up to sixty (60) months.  This RFP is available at:  www.FBO.gov (type in Federal Communications Commission as the search word for agency)
