On April 10, 2023, the FCC’s Media Bureau released a Public Notice seeking comment on a petition to waive certain accessibility requirements for emergency information.  The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) requests an extension of its existing waiver of the requirement that broadcasters provide an aural representation of visual, non-textual emergency information (such as radar maps or other graphics) on the secondary audio stream of video broadcasts.  NAB’s petition requests an additional two-year extension of the waiver, currently set to expire on May 26, 2023.
