FCC TO HOLD WORKSHOP ON EXPANDING DISABILITY ACCESS
WITH WIRELESS TECHNOLOGIES, MAY 13
Washington, D.C. -- As part of its continuing effort to develop and implement consumer-focused
policies, including disabilities access, the Federal Communications Commission will hold a
workshop on May 13, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, on
"Expanding Disability Access with Wireless Technologies." The workshop will focus on:
Mobile communications access issues facing people with disabilities and the
disparities in technology access.
Ways in which new technologies can offer opportunities to meet the communications
access needs of people with disabilities.
Technology demonstrations of advanced mobile communications.
The names of the panelists will be released at a later date.
Reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities are available upon request. Include a
