Glenn Woroch

As Chief Economist, Glenn Woroch is based in OEA but is an advisor on economic issues to the Chairman, Commissioners, and Bureaus and Offices. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor of Economics at University of California at Berkeley where he taught microeconomics, industrial organization and econometrics for nearly 25 years. For most of that time, Glenn was also the Executive Director of the Center for Research on Telecommunications Policy, a research unit located in Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

Glenn has published numerous articles on industrial organization, regulation, antitrust, and intellectual property. His research has appeared in top journals in industrial organization and antitrust, including the RAND Journal of Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Information Economics & Policy, Review of Industrial Organization and the Antitrust Bulletin. He served on the board of editors of several journals including Information Economics & Policy, Journal of Regulatory Economics and Telecommunications Policy.

Previously, Glenn taught economics at the University of Rochester and Stanford University, and was a senior member of technical staff at GTE (Verizon) Laboratories. He holds a Ph.D. in economics and M.A. in statistics from Berkeley and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
