On January 10, 2022, the Commission released a Public Notice seeking to refresh the record on proposed rules that would require manufacturers of covered apparatus and multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs) to make closed captioning display settings readily accessible to individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing pursuant to the Television Decoder Circuitry Act of 1990 (TDCA).

On January 18, 2022, the Commission released another Public Notice to announce the comment due dates.  Interested parties may file comments by accessing the Electronic Comment Filing System at www.fcc.gov/ecfs.  All filings must reference MB Docket No. 12-108.  People with disabilities who need assistance to file comments online may request assistance by email to FCC504@fcc.gov.
