The Commission has released a tentative agenda for the January Open Commission Meeting scheduled for 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.  As part of the agenda, the Commission will consider a Second Report and Order and Second Order on Reconsideration that will improve Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) by increasing the geographic accuracy of these alerts so that they reach the intended communities without disturbing others.  The order includes language that WEA-capable mobile devices must continue to implement display modes that meet the needs of people with disabilities.  For more information about WEAs, please visit:  https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/wireless-emergency-alerts-wea.
