On December 23, 2016, the FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) granted an extension of a waiver from the FCC’s advanced communications services (ACS) accessibility rules to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).  The waiver is for video game software that is capable of accessing ACS, such as Internet voice and text communication.  CGB extended the waiver for 12 months, from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.  ESA will submit a progress report to CGB on June 30, 2017.
