“This page is a digitally archived AccessInfo Announcement”

On December 26, 2017, the FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) granted an extension of a waiver of the FCC’s advanced communications services (ACS) accessibility rules to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA).  The waiver is for the class of video game software that is capable of accessing ACS, such as Internet voice and text communication.  The order extends this waiver, which is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2017, for one more year.  As requested by ESA, this is the final waiver for this class.   The order also requires ESA to submit a progress report to CGB on July 2, 2018.
