On September 16, 2019, the FCC's Media Bureau (MB) granted a limited waiver of the FCC's accessible user interfaces rules to Google Fiber for the following video programming functions:

1. Activating video description and adjusting the presentation and display of closed captioning.  These functions must be made audibly accessible by December 19, 2019.

2. The display of current configuration options and activating set-top box configuration options.  These functions must be made audibly accessible by December 19, 2020.  Furthermore, Google Fiber must provide status reports to the FCC on January 2, 2020 and June 1, 2020 on its efforts to make these functions accessible.

Google Fiber provides high-speed broadband Internet and multichannel video programming service to residential and business customers in various U.S. metro areas.
