On June 26, 2018, the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a public notice inviting comment on a petition filed by five video relay service (VRS) providers.  The VRS providers request a limited waiver of the Commission’s rules to permit them to provide service to a new user, or to a user whose VRS telephone number has been ported from another provider, while that user’s verification through the Telecommunications Relay Service User Registration Database (TRS-URD) is pending.

Interested parties may file comments by accessing the Electronic Comment Filing System at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings.  All filings must reference CG Docket Nos. 03-123 and 10-51.  People with disabilities who need assistance to file comments online at https://www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings may request assistance by email to FCC504@fcc.gov.
