The Intergovernmental Advisory Committee provides advice to the Commission on telecommunications issues affecting local, state, and Tribal governments that are within the jurisdiction of the FCC. During its two-year term, the IAC may be tasked by the Chairman to produce specific deliverables that will further the Commission's mission and objectives. Committee duties may include: Providing guidance to the Commission; gathering data and information; aiding the agency on outreach when needed; and performing analysis on request.

QUICK FACTS

  • The FCC is soliciting nominations for membership on the IAC for the 2020-2022 term.
  • The IAC is composed of thirty elected and appointed officials from municipal, county, state, and tribal governments.
  • Members of the IAC are required to attend at least two of the four meetings per year in Washington, D.C. at the applicant's expense.  For full details see the Public Notice  (November 6, 2019).
