Comment Deadline:  September 11, 2014

On August 28, 2014, the FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB) released a Public Notice with tentative findings about the following:

              •thelevelofcompliancewithaccessibilityrequirementsfortelecommunicationsandadvancedcommunicationsservicesandequipment,andInternetbrowsersbuiltintomobilephones;

•theeffectofaccessibilityrecordkeepingandenforcementrequirementsonthedevelopment anddeploymentofnewcommunicationstechnologies;and

•theextenttowhichaccessibilitybarriersstillexistwithrespecttonewcommunications technologies.

CGB requests comments on whether its tentative findings accurately represent the current state of communications technologies accessibility.  Comments will help inform the FCC’s report to Congress about these issues, which is required by the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA) and is due October 8, 2014.
