Forum on Captioning Local News Programs

This Forum is an educational event that will provide an overview of the "electronic newsroom technique," a system that transmits scripted news segments as closed captions, and the implementation of the Commission's requirements for "enhanced ENT" to provide access to news segments that are not scripted. Forum panels will discuss implementation challenges, solutions, and stakeholder collaboration.

The event will be open to the public, but admittance will be limited to available seating. The event also will be webcast with open captioning at On the day of the event, audience members may ask questions in person and questions may be submitted by e-mail to
