Disability Advisory Committee Meeting

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) held this meeting of the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC or Committee) on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. EST. The DAC meeting was held remotely at www.fcc.gov/live.

At this meeting, DAC members (i) received an update from the IP Captioning Files Transmittal Working Group; and (ii) discussed other topics relevant to the DAC’s work. The meeting was led by the DAC co-chairs: Brian Scarpelli, Senior Policy Counsel of ACT | The App Association, and Isidore Niyongabo, President and Director of Advocacy and Public Engagement of National Black Deaf Advocates.

The DAC also received briefings from Commission staff on issues of interest to the Committee and discussed topics of interest to the Committee, including, but not limited to, matters concerning accessible communications, telecommunications relay services, emergency access, and video programming accessibility.

The DAC meeting was open to the public. During the meeting, members of the public may have submit questions and comments to the DAC via email: livequestions@fcc.gov. These comments or questions may be addressed during the public comment period.

Open captioning and ASL sign language interpreting was provided for this event. Other reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities were available upon request.
