The FCC has Information and Data Officers in each Bureau and Office to ensure better use of data and data-driven decision-making. The Data Officers lead and collaborate on internal and external data strategy efforts to ensure data is available, reliable, consistent, accessible, and timely to support the mission and activities of the Commission. Data Officers are part of the Commission's efforts to track data inventories and collections, as well as to identify linkages needed between datasets. These officials aim to increase the effectiveness and efficiency in managing data, and analyzing the public value of the data created by and provided to the Commission. Working in conjunction with the Information and Data Officers are leaders from other related parts of the FCC, such as Information Technology, Geographic Information, Privacy, Information Security, Records Management, and Enterprise Architecture.
