Mr. Jackson was appointed the Assistant Inspector General for Management for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), Office of Inspector General (OIG) in December 2024. He supports the OIG in its mission to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, violations of law, and to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the operations of the FCC. He oversees several of the organization’s critical functions, including budget, acquisitions, contracts, human resources, information technology, and employee engagement.
Prior to joining FCC OIG Mr. Jackson served as Chief Technology Officer with AmeriCorps OIG. He developed, coordinated, and implemented IT Strategic planning and operations. He also directed the IT staff and oversaw the development and implementation of strategies to maximize the use of technology to improve security, productivity, and business products. Mr. Jackson also served as Chief Information Security Officer in the Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (SIGTARP). He was responsible for SIGTARP’s information and data security. He also provided technical support and IT oversight in support of SIGTARP’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. and four field offices in New York City, Atlanta, Long Beach, and San Francisco.
Mr. Jackson has also served in various roles with the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of the Treasury’s Internal Revenue Services (IRS), the Department of the Air Force, and the Department of the Army. He has an intrinsic understanding of the relationship between technology and business and can scrutinize the aspects of business/organizational processes and implementation of new technologies to streamline methodologies. He is a dedicated and technically skilled business professional with a versatile business and technical skill set developed through experience as a Chief Technology Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, Data Manager, Systems Analyst, Computer Specialist, IT Business Analyst, and supervisor. Kenyatta excels in mitigating organizational information technology challenges with innovative solutions, systems, and process improvements proven to increase security, efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
Mr. Jackson began his federal career in 1993 with the Department of the Army. He earned his M.S. in Cybersecurity Management & Policy and a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland. He also earned his M.B.A and B.A in Business Administration with specialization in Technology Management from Saint Leo University. Mr. Jackson also holds several information technology certifications and licenses.
