At this meeting, DAC members discussed (i) a working group report and recommendation on the transmittal of captioning files by video programming providers and distributors; and (ii) other topics relevant to the DAC’s work. The meeting was led by the DAC co-chairs: Brian Scarpelli, Senior Policy Counsel of ACT | The App Association, and Isidore Niyongabo, President and Director of Advocacy and Public Engagement of National Black Deaf Advocates.
The DAC also received briefings from Commission staff on issues of interest to the Committee and discussed topics of interest to the Committee, including, but not limited to, matters concerning accessible communications, telecommunications relay services, emergency access, and video programming accessibility.
