Disability Advisory Committee Meeting

The FCC's Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) held its first meeting of the fifth term virtually on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT).

DAC members discussed:

  • the roles and responsibilities of the Committee and its members;
  • issues that the Committee will address;
  • meeting schedules; and
  • any other topics relevant to the DAC's work.

The meeting was led by the DAC co-chairs: Kim Charlson, Executive Director of Perkins Library, Perkins School for the Blind, and Kyle Dixon, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Program Network Policy, NCTA – The Internet and Television Association. Joshua Mendelsohn, Attorney Advisor, Disability Rights Office, Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau (CGB), serves as the Designated Federal Officer (DFO) of the DAC. The meeting agenda is available on this event webpage, and may be modified at the discretion of the DAC co-chairs and the DFO.

The DAC meeting was open to the public with audio and video coverage of the meeting at fcc.gov/live. During the meeting, members of the public submitted questions and comments to the DAC via email: livequestions@fcc.gov. These comments and questions were addressed during the public comment period.
