  • El compromiso de mantener conectados a los estadounidenses: El 13 de marzo, el presidente de la FCC, Ajit Pai, llamó a los proveedores de servicios de banda ancha y telefónicos a fomentar la conectividad de los estadounidenses afectados por las alteraciones causadas por el coronavirus.   • Programa de Atención de Salud a Distancia COVID-19: El 2 de abril, la FCC estableció el Programa de Atención de Salud a Distancia COVID-19 (COVID-19 Telehealth Program, en inglés) por $200 millones, para ayudar a los proveedores de servicios de salud a prestar servicios de atención de salud en línea a los pacientes, en sus hogares o en ubicaciones móviles, en respuesta a la pandemia. El Congreso asignó los fondos de conformidad con la ley de asistencia, alivio y protección económica contra el coronavirus, CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, en inglés). El programa otorgará soporte inmediato a los proveedores de atención de salud elegibles que respondan a la pandemia, financiando por completo sus servicios de telecomunicaciones, servicios de información y los equipos que sean necesarios para prestar atención de salud en línea de crítica importancia.
